The drawing is really good, but it sometimes fails to prove it's worth in the shading tecnique. The gun's handle, to example, is a little shoprt on contrasts.

Great job Amanda. I like the detail in the face. I am sure that it must be very hard to make a face look realistic and alive but you have done well. I think the contrast could be increased for a bolder image. The shading in the helment seems to be done with square blocks which doesn't quite blend with the other shading techniques you used. Nevertheless, this is fantastic and is my favorite from you.

I'm going to have to hit you on the butt of the rifle too. Not so much the shading as the detail you didn't include on the back face of the buttstock. Sorry, but since I'm in the military myself I tend to notice those stupid kinds of details. ;)

I saw Michelle's comment about the 'square' shading...I imagine that this might be a Marine and you were replicating their new digital print cammo.

thanks for the comment Wysiwyg ( = and about the square shading, yes i was replicating the digital cammo.
p.s. thats so cool you are in the military!

I like this one...its not as sharply drawn as your other work, but its good nonetheless. I can overlook the stock on the rifle because of the incredible amount of detail on the gun itself. Getting something that intricate drawn right is a challenge and you rose to it in style. Nice job. Nice work on the armor and gloves too. Kudos to you.

The texturing is beautiful Amanda. Duuhh... I've just noticed your age. I'm doubly impressed with what I've seen of your work so far! If this is what you are creating now, you have a very bright and very interesting future ahead of you.

The time and care spent on this piece is very apparent - and it's certainly paid off. 9/9 :)
